Barge (Train cars)
- Train cars load onto dock - onto barge ..travel across water.. from barge onto dock. Alaska barges: Each barge has 8 tracks of about 400’ in length. length of 397.9 feet (55"), a beam of 100 feet (13.8") and a depth of 24 feet (3.3"). Train cars on base, stacked above with containers. Jeez, that is bigger than the Container and Oil Ships I plan to use ~40" x 6" (This is larger than I plan to use but it is real data: WMS Groningen : Length x Breadth: 129 m X 22 m = 423'x72' = HO 58"x9.9" They do make smaller ships similar to what I will use. Barges that travel across lakes are smaller too, just a few tracks wide and a few cars long.) Not really animated ? Train loads cars onto a barge and it is pushed around on a cart to be unloaded at another dock...
- Car float 36" long, 5.5" wide 1" tall : waterline model...
Top: Lindberg 1/72 Fire Boat w/o fire hoses 11.5" long ..Mine measured 12+..
Revell Harbour Tug Boat 1:108 Scale : 9+"
Kibri : Modern Push/Pull Tugboat -- 7-1/4 x 2-1/2 x 3-13/16''
